Friday Photos: Gettin’ SCRAPpy

C3 Staff took a field trip to SCRAP Denton, located near The University of North Texas, to drop off materials we no longer needed and hunt for some that will be used in our space. We walked away 62 pounds lighter by donating unused materials to a great organization!

“SCRAP is a non-profit organization located in downtown Denton, TX. Our mission is to inspire creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community. SCRAP Denton opened it’s doors in January 2012 and we’ve been growing ever since! We accept donations of clean reusable art, craft and office supplies and make them available to the community at affordable prices. We also offer workshops and other inspiration for creative reuse.” – scrapdenton.org

While in Denton, we also had a work meeting at J&J’s Pizza on the square, stopped by the local DIME store, and saw the work of Kiki Smith at UNT on the Square.

Stay tuned to see what we do with the materials we brought back from SCRAP Denton! You might just have to take a visit to the Center for Creative Connections and see for yourself!
